Jonathan is an environmental sustainability professional with an academic background in carbon management and experience of working for multiple large businesses.  He joined Birmingham Airport in November 2021 and is responsible for the development and implementation of the Airport’s net zero strategy, including energy demand reduction and efficiency projects, energy and carbon reporting, compliance, and employee engagement.

Prior to this, Jonathan spent six years working in the discount retail and pub sectors, always in a role focused on energy, water and waste management.  He was a part of edie’s 30 under 30 class of 2019.  Jonathan holds a degree in Environmental Science, a postgraduate certificate in Sustainable Aviation and PhD in Sustainability and Carbon Management, from Manchester Metropolitan University.
