James Cadman heads up Action Sustainability’s Consultancy Team and has worked in product sustainability for more than 18 years. During that time he has gained extensive experience of assessing the sustainability impacts that products have through their life cycle and applying that to sustainable procurement and supply chain policies & initiatives.
James has led many projects on developing sustainable procurement policies; devising product standards, guidance and codes of conduct; and undertaking carbon footprinting in order to improve product and market sustainability performance, as well as meeting organisational sustainability targets. His work in carbon has included several footprint studies on products as diverse as chemical catalysts, horticultural products, food, ICT and infrastructure. Aspects of this work have looked at comparisons between a business-as-usual system and an innovative way of working to understand the carbon benefits.
Recently he managed the delivery of a new e-learning module on PAS 2080 and managing carbon on behalf of the Green Construction Board. He regularly provides training on carbon through the Supply Chain Sustainability School.
