Helen studied Physics at Oxford, covering atmospheric physics and climate change. Her Masters project involved building an experimental wind turbine generator, which marked the start of her pursuit of renewable energy solutions. After graduating, she worked in Germany, giving a new perspective on embedding low-carbon living within businesses, policy-makers and households. She then worked at Future Cities Catapult, an urban innovation centre, and Forum for the Future, a sustainability not-for-profit. She is fluent in German.
Helen’s thorough understanding of the key challenges within the energy and food sectors, along with her excellent project management skills, have added value to projects for international clients, local authorities, and business and academic consortia. Other clients include multinational firms, local and national government, and major philanthropic organisations.
Helen is overseeing our flagship Green Clusters project, scoping decentralised energy systems across Suffolk, advising Suffolk County Council on strategic carbon saving opportunities, and represents Carbon Smart at industry events on decentralised energy systems.
