Bekir Andrews, CENV, Fellow of IEMA, is Balfour Beatty’s Group Head of Environment & Sustainability.
He has over 19 years of direct experience as a Sustainability Practitioner. Working in the field of FM, infrastructure, rail, professional services and construction he has a wealth of practical knowledge and international experience.
He is responsible for developing and driving Balfour Beatty’s sustainability strategy. His specialisms include deploying and communicating strategy, non-financial reporting, writing business cases, reviewing government policies, engaging stakeholders, developing e-learning and training materials, sustainable procurement, implementing integrated management systems, auditing, energy management, resource efficiency, renewables, and transport.
In addition to the Environment and Sustainability teams he also manages Balfour Beatty’s energy management unit, driving efficiencies across its projects and buildings portfolio. Bekir is an active member of IEMA’s Climate Change Forum and up until 2015 chaired IEMA’s South East Steering Group that has over 4,000 members.
Bekir is passionate about his work, the profession and the sharing of best practice. He is keen to support the profession across all sectors and the continual professional development of sustainability practitioners.
