Serial technology entrepreneur Andrew Bissell founded Sunamp in 2005 to develop an affordable and sustainable solution for heat energy storage for commercial and domestic markets. He led one of the most exciting academic and industry partnerships in Scotland, teaming up with the University of Edinburgh to develop the unique heat energy storage phase-change material which is the core patented technology delivering high powered heating and cooling in Sunamp thermal batteries.  Up to four times smaller than traditional hot water cylinders, Sunamp products are key to optimising renewables, and so far over 25,000 heat batteries have been installed, cutting energy use and carbon emissions in homes world-wide. Sunamp is a multi-award winning company and in 2023 received the Kings’ Award for Enterprise in the innovation category.
