Abel Martins Alexandre has an experience that spans c. 30 years, four continents, in both banking and corporate, in a range of strategy, commercial, and finance roles.

He was most recently Managing Director & Head of Infrastructure, Energy & Industrials at Lloyds Corporate & Institutional Bank, and led a team of c. 50 bankers providing the full range of global banking and markets products to c. 250 clients across the UK, US and Europe, and with a particular emphasis on supporting clients with their energy transition strategy.

Before Lloyds, Abel was the Group Treasurer of Rio Tinto, one of the world’s largest diversified metals and mining groups, where he spent fifteen years in a range of strategy, business development, transformation, commercial and finance roles. He was also member of Rio Tinto Finance Leadership Team and Commercial Leadership Team.

In addition to his finance expertise both in banking and corporate and the many transactions he has led incl. M&A, IPOs, complex financing structures, Abel has gained vast experience across range of stakeholders, incl. investors, private equity and investment firms, multi-lateral organisations, governments, rating agencies, industry bodies, communities). He also draws from this diverse and international experience to offer unique perspectives on solutions to business challenges.

Abel holds Masters degrees from Toulouse and London Business Schools respectively and a post-graduate degree in International Economics and Finance from University Paris Dauphine.
