Riding Sunbeams is a social enterprise set up by 1010 Climate Change Group and Community Energy South to work with Network Rail to investigate the pathway for the railways to support decarbonisation by being powered directly by renewable energy.

Since 2017 the Riding Sunbeams team have been working with Network Rail teams to investigate the technical, commercial and social drivers to facilitate this vital move for the UK’s largest energy user.
