Reducing The King’s Cross Estate Carbon Footprint, from Energy Supply, to Tenant Demand in a Joined up Approach

Wednesday 24th November 2021

Theatre :  Case Studies  Energy Future & Flexible Networks  Retrofitting

t4

In this session, we will discuss the work the Optimised Group have been carrying out on the King’s Cross Estate. Starting with evolving their tenant recharging to RICS best practice, with the addition of metering and moving to near real-time data acquisition to create transparency of individual tenant demands on central HVAC plant.

We will then lead on to explain the proven success of implementing BMS strategies, analytics & data from continuous Bureau monitoring, and BMS maintenance, to ensure HVAC systems are working at optimal, yet compliant levels, to guarantee the leased tenant space meets comfort criteria. Thanks to the greater apportionment of HVAC services, because of effective energy metering and tenant recharging.

All of this, in conjunction with reducing King’s Cross carbon footprint, thanks to our work in facilitating an entrepreneurial-like switch to biogas, via a green gas purchase agreement (GPA), which has eliminated 20,000 tons of carbon emissions.
