Industrial Decarbonisation & Transformational path to Net Zero

Wednesday 24th November 2021

Theatre :  Energy & Carbon Management Strategy  Retrofitting

t1

Society of Operation Engineers will host a panel discussion with experts from Atlas Copco, bp and Tarmac, chaired by William Dalrymple, editor of Operations Engineer magazine. The panel will argue that decarbonising industry is among the most difficult challenges of the net zero transition that requires an openness to change and the courage to do things differently. The session will cover various aspects of energy and carbon management strategy including compressed air application, heat recovery measures, operating output management and the importance of cohesive monitoring systems.

The Society and panellists recognise that industry needs not only to reduce reliance on carbon-based sources and focus on the production of sustainable energy, but also reduce energy demands and make more efficient use of energy that is used.

This session will be a great opportunity to learn more about:

  • corporate culture for environmental protection
  • operational issues involved in greener production
  • barriers preventing greater uptake of environmental protection technologies
  • investigations/actions that operators of process plant could do to improve their environmental performance
