Achieving carbon neutrality – Carbon Offset Guide
Theatre : Energy & Carbon Management Strategy
Carbon neutrality refers to achieving a net carbon footprint of zero. Carbon offset credits are the primary tool for achieving such reductions.
However, carbon offsetting should be only considered when all other approaches/routes to reduce carbon emissions have been exhausted. This may include which may include consumption reduction technologies, behavioural programmes, green procurement strategies, and renewable technologies.
However, it is understood that this is a strategy that might be on the card when all other measures have been implemented and that you are now left with some carbon emissions that can’t be reduced otherwise and that you wish to neutralise.
At present, carbon offsetting is voluntary and unregulated. The current offsets market “operates in the shadows”, with some good “but lots of bad” schemes.
This session will give you clear guidance.
