Cheetah is Quintex’s intelligent demand control kitchen ventilation system designed to control the extract and air supply fans, always ensuring the run at the lowest speed to minimize energy usage. Typically, commercial kitchen fans run at full speed throughout kitchen operations even when there is little or no cooking. Cheetah uses a network of sensors to detect smoke, steam and temperature and adjusts the fan speeds accordingly, in line with the demand from the cookline.
Last year, Quintex rolled out Cheetah to over 100 Deliveroo kitchens across 19 sites and the results have been phenomenal. Saving them 420 tonnes of carbon per year and reducing their fans energy consumption dramatically! Global head of strategy and projects for Deliveroo, Henry Francis teamed up with Quintex to enable the benefits of demand control ventilation in dark kitchens.
