ACC Liverpool is a landmark £164 million regeneration project on Liverpool’s waterfront, home to the 11,000 capacity Echo Arena and the award-winning BT Convention Centre. The venue is one of the greenest in Europe.
Since opening its doors in 2008, ACC Liverpool has played host to a whole range of events, from the MTV Europe Music Awards, MOBOs and Paul McCartney’s homecoming gig, to political conferences and performances by Peter Kay and John Bishop.
Gerald Andrews, Finance Director at ACC Liverpool says:
E.ON have been our energy provider from day one and we chose them because we felt their offer was compelling and went beyond supplying energy, with a range of value added services including consultancy.
The relationship has really blossomed over the last six years and we see our dedicated account manager as a friend to the business and a key part of our success. He helps us manage our energy usage and we know we can put ideas to him and get an honest answer.
Energy efficiency is really important to us and we have lots of initiatives in place. E.ON help us keep track of the electricity we’re using through half hourly metering and consumption monitoring, and we have a smart meter for gas. Our account manager also works closely with our in house energy team and environmental champions.
E.ON have always helped us find the best deal too. At the moment, we’ve moved to a more flexible way of buying energy through multi-purchase contracts, which allows us to fix our costs for longer periods.
We’re adding a new £66 million exhibition centre and hotel to the venue in 2015, so we’ll be using even more energy in the future and E.ON will be there to help us. Our events programme couldn’t run without energy and any hiccups in the supply could have a massive impact on our reputation, so it’s great we’ve got an energy partner we can rely on.
Energy plays a vital part in everything we do, from lighting and sound to production and catering. So it’s great we’ve got an energy partner we can rely on.”
