EURECA invites Public Sector Data Centres to come together at EMEX

The EURECA Special Interest Group is a new Data Centre Alliance (DCA) community group specifically for those working within Public Sector organisations who are interested in resource efficient data centres and server rooms, and also the successful procurement of related products and services. This community is dedicated to:

  • Sharing of knowledge, experience and expertise between Public Sector organisations and individuals.
  • Facilitate (cross-sector) community building between (Public Sector) procurement and the Data Centre sector.
  • Help identify sources of information to keep up to date with market developments that impact procurement choices and practices.
  • Stimulate the (innovative) procurement of ‘environmentally sound’ data centre products and services that meet the Public Sector organisation’s requirements.

Topics of the group may include (but are not limited to), resource efficiency, environmental issues, outsourcing, operational matters, retrofitting, and any other data center related market or procurement aspects and challenges. Activities may include developing R&D, knowledge and best practice sharing, twinning programmes and looking at innovation (PPI) opportunities.

This group is open solely for Public Sector members only, and is provided in association with the EU Funded EURECA project. However, your registration as Public Sector member also includes FREE access to other resources on the DCA Member’s Portal which gives you the opportunity to also explore other Data Centre industry focused, groups within this portal.

Users are able to specify their particular interest areas from over 35 specific aspects relating to data centres, for example, consolidation and cost reduction, retrofitting or best practices which will enable the project team to not only respond with specific knowledge sharing themes or other useful resources, but also fine tune the EURECA tool functionality.

Public Sector individuals can register HERE (Once you have been approved as Public Sector, you will be sent your log in details after registering)
