Biography

Tim is Head of Sustainability for Wolseley UK (a major distributor of plumbing and heating products) and was not only responsible for delivering the Sustainable Building Center at Leamington Spa but he also helps in defining Plumb Center’s renewables and energy efficient products offer and their commercial implementation. Tim’s breadth of knowledge stretches across a wide range of products and technologies together with the implications and requirements of a sustainable supply chain. In 2008 Tim was included in the ‘Building’ Magazine Top 40 list of ‘Green Gurus’; sustainability figures that are considered leaders in their field and in July 2010 he was named as one the West Midlands Top 50 Green Leaders. Tim sits on the DECC RHI Industry Advisory Group, the HHIC Low Carbon Group, the NEF Advisory Council and chairman of the HHIC Merchants Group. Before his current appointment Tim was Head of Marketing for all the Wolseley UK businesses. His 20-year career in merchanting has included experience in all sectors of the construction market. Prior to Wolseley, Tim’s career included a spell with the German chemical giant, Hoechst and a 3 year period working in Sweden. Tim believes passionately in the provision of sustainable building solutions which are practical, effective and economic. He speaks at industry conferences throughout the UK and regularly writes columns and features in the trade press. He also describes himself as a Newcastle United supporter for 50 years, through thin and thin.
