Richard is a building services engineer by trade with a bias early on towards sustainability. Before joining the sustainability team at QMUL, he had worked at the University of Essex for 15 years and 10 in the NHS in similar energy management roles.
His remit at QMUL is to reduce energy and water consumption and to manage carbon emissions, through the interaction and delivery of projects, including the replacement of an ageing BEMS and AMR across the estate. Richard has an HNC in Building Services and graduated later in life from the Open University with a BSc honours degree and has a post grad certificate in Environmental Decision Making. He has made life time saving of over £2 million and 13,000 tonnes in CO2.
