Biography

Mark North joined Costa Express as Production and Logistics Manager in 2007, back when it was still Coffee Nation. He was instrumental in contributing to the rapid growth of the company, which lead to its acquisition by Whitbread in 2011. In 2012 Mark took up the post of Quality Manager for the newly branded Costa Express, with responsibility for Continuous Improvement and the Environment.

One of Mark’s proudest achievements during his role as Quality Manager was leading the brand to obtain the ISO 14001 certification – a project supported by senior management to apply a series of sustainability measures across the Costa Express business and enable proactive management of its environmental impact.

Prior to Costa Express, he worked for ALCOA in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, focusing on engineering manufacturing and design, with the company producing such products as Bacofoil and Snappies cling film wrap.

Throughout his career, Mark has brought passion and genuine determination to every role. For his central role in leading Costa Express to achieve the ISO 14001 certification, Mark was awarded the highly sought after, internal ‘Managing Directors’ award, presented to him by Murray McGowan, Managing Director at Costa Express.
