Biography

Kit Oung is a practicing energy consultant specialising in energy and carbon reduction strategies using low-cost high-return opportunities and energy management systems. He has 15 years’ experience in energy auditing and implements energy reduction projects for blue chip multi-national companies including petrochemical, specialty chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage and large commercial properties across five continents.

He is also the Board Member of Energy Managers Association and Advisory Council Member of 2degrees Network. Kit was the Convenor for EN16247-3: Energy Audit – Processes, Project Leader for ISO 50002 Energy Audit, and member of ISO TC242 Chairman’s Advisory Group. Kit was also the Technical Author for Publically Available Specification (PAS) 51215: Energy efficiency audit – Competency of a lead energy auditor.

Kit writes frequently on business sustainability, energy and environmental issues. He has also given presentations and university lectures at a postgraduate-level on energy management. Recently, he has been profiled in a book, Earthscan Expert Guide to Sustainable Energy Management (Routledge, Sept 2013).

Kit, a Chartered Energy Manager, Chartered Chemical Engineer and member of Chartered Management Institute, graduated from the University of Sheffield in 1997. In 2011, he completed both the General Management Certificate and the Professional Service Firm Leader from Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.
