Depending on where your energy use is  - IT, Facilities, Production or Maintenance - it is imperative that teams in these departments receive appropriate knowledge and training. This could include: procuring energy, meeting carbon reduction targets, complying with environmental regulations or assessing building systems and performance.

Programmes targeting an individual’s energy consumption awareness have been gaining popularity recently. They are the low hanging fruit approach to energy efficiency, and the EMA’s contribution to this is the development of the Energy Awareness course (LEC 1) for individuals as well as organisations.

For large energy users, there is a need to better support in-house Energy and Sustainability Managers so they are able to focus on the whole operation and identify the interdependencies between each function. With this broader view, it is possible to develop and implement solutions that deliver greater cost reductions. Some of the benefits are to increase energy efficiency across multiple facilities, reduce maintenance costs and enhance workplace productivity.
