Corona Energy wins Watford’s Charitable Business Award 2016
Every year Watford Borough Council recognises and celebrates the outstanding dedication and contribution made by organisations and individuals in the Borough through its Audentior Awards. Nominations were considered by a special Panel chaired by the Elected Mayor, Mrs. Dorothy Thornhill.
Carol Tunstall, Fundraising Manager of Watford Mencap nominated Corona Energy for the Charitable Business Award 2016 and Corona Energy is delighted to have won this prestigious award.
Tunstall says “Corona Energy has had an enormous impact on our charity in so many ways – both financial and practical. Watford Mencap has had a partnership with the company for three years and we are really amazed by the depth of commitment shown by their staff. Teams of staff have undertaken a series of physical challenges, arranged outings and cake bakes for Watford Mencap and over the course of the last three years have raised over £10,000 for us.”
The awards were given at a special reception which took place on Friday 7th October 2016 at the Watford Colosseum.
Matthew Gray, Managing Director of Corona Energy said: “We have a strong commitment to supporting the local community and making a positive difference. Watford Mencap is a fantastic charity, and to be able to help people with learning disabilities and their families is an amazing experience. Receiving this award is a testament to the passion and commitment our staff and we are very thankful for the recognition.”
